Peter Kwei Dagadu is the General Manager of Waste Landfills Company Ltd, an environmental sanitation services organization providing solutions downstream of Ghana’s waste management value chain. He has extensive local and international experience in waste management and related projects over the past 15 years. Apart from landfill operations and maintenance, he has also supervised the development and operation of solid waste transfer stations as well as the decommissioning and re-engineering of several landfills in Ghana. He currently superintends the Landfill Management Programme (LAMP) for developing, operating and maintaining final disposal sites across Ghana. Since 2017, he has been working with Ghana’s Environmental Protection Agency to revise Ghana’s waste management guidelines and regulations. Peter is certified as a Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO) and Transfer Stations by the Solid Waste Management Association of North America (SWANA - Canada). He holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil.) in Environmental Science and an Executive MBA in Project Management and other professional courses. He is currently researching household hazardous waste management in Ghana for his PhD. He has strong interests in circularity, stakeholder management in environmentally sensitive projects, landfill gas management and aftercare, economic and regulatory instruments in waste management.
